Dense cushions, prostrate to ascending shoots, stocky.

15-20 cm tall.

Masses of round, umbel-like flower heads, bright golden yellow, end of March to May; sparse blossoms into September; pleasant honey fragrance.

Slenderly lanceolate, silvery grey-green.

Extremely deep roots reaching far into cracks in the rock.

Only full sunlight, tolerates heat, needs warmth, frost hardy.

Dry to fresh, likes chalk, well-drained, sandy gravel, sandy loam, gravel, withers on compacted soil.

Cutting after flowering keeps the plant compact.
