Climber, 8-10 m tall, woody, thorny, shoots (almost) naked, fast-growing.
Flowers
Inconspicuous, pipe-shaped with short, extended margins, cream inside, olive to greyish green outside, surrounded by three conspicuous violet to crimson bracts, flowering almost all year.
Leaves
Evergreen, pointedly ovoid, elongatedly oval, up to 12 cm long, entire, medium to dark green, semi-shiny, cream-white margins.
Demands
Full sun, sensitive to frost, tolerates pruning, prune after flowering.
Natural habitat
Any well drained soil.
