Size

Tufts of leaves 40-50 cm high, 80-100 cm wide, stalks 70-100 cm high.

Flowers

Dense, slender panicles, light brown to yellowish; June to July.

Leaves

Usually semi-evergreen, also evergreen in favourable areas, slenderly linear, grey-green, pale yellow in autumn.

Demands

Sun, tolerates heat, needs warmth, mostly frost hardy.

Soil

Moderately dry to fresh, well-drained, moderately nutritious, sandy or gravely loam.
