Galium odoratum

Forms mats and creeps into large carpets; flatly extended runners.

10-15 cm tall.

Star-shaped flowers, white in umbel-like heads, April to May, slightly fragrant.

Decid or semi-evergreen; slenderly elliptical, in whorls around the thin, wiry shoots, emits strong sweet, aromatic fragrance when withering.

Light to deep shade, likes warmth, frost hardy.

Moderately dry to moist; well-drained, likes chalk, loamy-humic; no heavy or dense soil.
