Inconspicuous husks.

Lanceolate and small, grey.
Roots
Deep, collect nitrogen.
Demands
Only in full sun; tolerates heat and drought, plant in protected areas due to sensitivity to frost, needs wind protection.
Soil
On poor, mineral soil; always well drained and not too moist; slightly acidic to slightly alkaline.
