Wide open bowls, bright blue with crimson bud, many flowers; May to June, some second blossoms.

Leaves

Round, deeply lobed, like maple, early shoots, pale green; often orange to red in autumn.

Demands

Sun to light shade, losing its habit in deep shade, usually frost hardy.

Soil

Fresh to moist, sensitive to drought; well-drained, nutritious, sandy-rocky-loamy.
