Geranium macrorrhizum 'Ingwersen'

Large, extended carpets covering the ground without gaps with its thick rhizomes; fast-growing.

20-30 cm tall.

Roundish, pale pink, May to July.

Rust-red syncarpy from July to August.

Decid to semi-evergreen, deeply and slenderly lobed, early shoots in April, light green, later pale green, orange to red in autumn; leaves and petioles sticky, intensely aromatic.

Sun to semi-shade, tolerates heat, likes warmth, frost hardy.

Moderately dry to fresh, well-drained, sandy-gravelly-loamy; sensitive to winter dampness on heavy soil, sometimes rotting; otherwise robust and not demanding.
