Habit
Funnel-shaped large shrub, 3-5 m tall and wide, loose, slow-growing.
Flowers
Plentiful flowers, up to 2 cm long, petals like threads, bright yellow (end of January) February to March, intense fragrance from afar.
Leaves
Oval-roundish, glossy on top, medium-green, grey tomentose underneath, yellow orange from September on.
Roots
Shallow roots, sensitive to digging.
Demands
Sun to light shade, few flowers in semi-shade; likes warmth, moderately frost hardy, sensitive to late frost when young, favourable in protected areas; needs wind protection.
Soil
Fresh to moist, sensitive to drought; acidic or neutral; well-drained, humic substrates.
