Small, blackish-brownish berry cones with a bluish waxy coating; very poisonous.
Leaves
Usually scaly, occasionally needle-like, dark green, very aromatic; as with all parts of the juniper, very poisonous.
Roots
Extremely deep roots.
Demands
Sun, extremely tolerant of heat, frost hardy; very easy to please and adaptable; good for urban environments, wind resistant.
Soil
Dry to fresh, slightly acidic to very alkaline, on any not too nutritious and not too heavy soil.
