Kalmia angustifolia 'Rubra'

Domed dwarf shrub or occasionally a small shrub, 0.5-0.8 (1.0) m tall and wide; many shoots and stiffly upright, few twigs, some runners, occasionally like a thicket, very slow-growing.

Small crimson-pink flower cups after shooting, in clusters on tips of twigs, June to July.

Inconspicuous.

Evergreen, lanceolate, up to 6 cm long, fresh green or pale blue-green, in clusters on twig ends.

Sun to semi-shady; avoids heat and drought; frost hardy.

For fresh to damp, acidic or neutral, very humic substrates.
