Habit

Medium-size, upright, compact, dense shrub, up to 3 m tall.

Flowers

White, tube-shaped, in long, terminal panicles, up to 15 cm long, high summer to early autumn, unpleasant smell.

Fruit

Elongated, black berries, poisonous.

Leaves

Evergreen, ovoid, like camellias, very dark to olive green, shiny, up to 10 cm long.

Demands

Full sun to semi-shade, somewhat frost hardy, takes well to cutting.

Soil

Any well drained substrate.

Note

Whole plant is poisonous.
