Select large shrub or short-stem small tree, 3-5 (8) m tall and wide, initially funnel-shaped, upright, later expansive and broad, rounded, slow-growing.
Flowers
Before leaves shoot, densely packed, like tulips, bells, pink to pink-white, end of April to beginning of May here.
Leaves
Fresh green, 10-15 cm long, thickish, pale yellow in October.
Demands
Only full sun, flower buds sensitive to late frost.
Soil
Avoid chalk.
