Habit
Initially cushions with upright peduncles, later flat, dense mats, fast-growing.
Size
20-40 cm tall.
Flowers
Lavender-blue, labial flowers in whorls on panicle-like inflorescences with many flowers from May to September; sharply aromatic fragrance.
Leaves
Usually decid green, sometimes semi-evergreen in favourable areas; slenderly elliptical, wrinkled, silvery grey shoots, later grey-green, penetrating aroma.
Demands
Sun, tolerates heat, likes warmth, mostly frost hardy.
Soil
Dry to fresh, sensitive to winter dampness, well-drained, chalky, sandy, gravelly or gravelly loam.
Our tip
Cut back hard to just above ground after first flowering in June to increase flower production and give the plants an especially compact habit.
