Oenothera missouriensis

Mats with shoots almost a meter long, but not aggressively rampant; hangs loosely from walls.

15-20 cm tall, up to 100 cm wide.

Up to 10 cm large, wide-open funnels, paper-thin, buds yellow-orange, flowers shiny citrus-yellow, opening in the late afternoon or at dusk, only for one or a few days; rolls up when withering, salmon-orange; but flowers without interruption from June to September.

Lanceolate, slenderly elliptical, pale green, silvery tomentose and shiny.

Sun, does not take well to shade, tolerates heat, likes warmth, mostly frost hardy.

Dry to fresh, sensitive to winter dampness, very well-drained, loamy sand, gravel, sandy loam.
