Size

Flowers

Like forget-me-nots, sky-blue with white buds in small racemes, March to May.

Leaves

Pointed, ovoid to cordate, fresh green, coarse; early leaf shoots in March.

Demands

Light shade to shade, likes warmth for its early flowers, otherwise cool and humid, frost hardy.

Soil

Fresh to moist, well-drained, humic, nutritious, loamy; do not clear autumn leaves from trees.
