Terminal white panicles, end of April to May.

Leaves
Evergreen, thick, reverse ovoid, 5-8 cm long, fresh green to shiny medium green.
Roots
Flat, forming runners, very sensitive to soil compaction, tolerate root pressure from trees.
Demands
Light shade to shade, does not like sun; cool, humid areas; usually frost hardy; tolerates urban areas; sensitive to wind.
Soil
Well drained, fresh to moist, slightly acidic to slightly alkaline soil, sandy or loamy humus; heavy soil is unsuitable.
Note
Fallen leaves disappear underneath the foliage of Pachysandra and so do not generally need cleaning.
