Clump-like.

Flowers 60-80 cm high.

Bowl-shaped flowers in conspicuously salmon-pink hues with basal black spots.

See P. orientale 'Beauty of Livermere'.

Garden poppies should be only planted in small groups in the centre or back of a flower bed due to the leaves that turn yellow quickly after flowering and die back early. Evergreen, ground-covering shrubs provide good company.
