Creeping mats covering the ground, producing countless rosettes with its many layers; initially growing fast and without gaps, gradually wandering.

15-20 cm tall.

Semi-evergreen, oval, metallic shiny bronze-green; dense foliage.

Bilabial, in whorls on numerous, upright spikes, purple-blue, April to May.

Sun to semi-shade, for cool, humid areas, frost hardy.

Fresh to moist, nutritious, loamy-humic or loamy, rosette carpets quickly breaking up on poor soil.
