1.5 to 2.5 m tall, slow-growing, stiffly to broadly upright, slow-growing, arching when old.

Dark green, attractive yellow spots.

Dioecious, inconspicuous and small, reddish, hidden under the leaves, spring.

Elongated, ovoid, shiny red from the end of September, persistent through winter, poisonous.

Cordate, tolerate root pressure very well.

Only semi-shade to shade; needs protection from winter sun, tolerates heat, likes warmth, needs shelter; high humidity, tolerant of urban pollution, resistant to air and soil pollution.

Moderately dry to fresh, slightly acidic to slightly alkaline, all humic substrates, sandy-loamy, not too heavy.
